Once seen as a newcomer, Lucas now plays with the poise of a seasoned pro at the top of European roundnet – and rightfully so. After a rocky start to the season with three 5th-place finishes, the reigning German champion and his partner Christiani bounced back strong: winning in Basel, Hanover, and Paris proved they’re part of Europe’s elite. In 2025, Lucas is once again a key player on the national team.

Playing such a flat, wide left-handed cut as a right- handed player inevitably puts her opponents under pressure. Jule also manages to “catch” a lot of balls at hip height in defence and gets balls to the net in many situations. These are great prerequisites for delivering outstanding performances in the national jersey.
